Pastors' Wives ~ Kay Warren

Pastors Wives - Thriving in the Fishbowl

CARE FOR PASTORS WIVES

http://careforpastors.org/care-for-pastors-wives/

WELCOME!

WELCOME! I was hiking today on "rattlesnake trail" in the hills of Palos Verdes, and listening to the radio...whatever I can connect to on my transistor radio as I hike ...and I happened upon a Christian station...seemed to be a womens program (ie hosted by women about women issues) and they were talking about a conference specifically for pastors' wives. I thought to myself as I listened that of ALL the BLOGS I HAVE , why do I NOT have one for pastors' wives?

My mom is a pastor's wife. My two late grandma's on my dad's side were a pastor's wife. I grew up around the church, amongst different pastors, and attended a seminary full of future pastors (who are allowed to get married, as opposed to priests). Some people even call me "pastor", even though I am more of an evangelist than a formally employed church pastor and all that goes along with being such. Albeit I myself am not married, and if I was I would not be a wife, but a husband. I am male, heterosexual, and Christian. But that doesn't mean I cannot CARE 4 and be concerned about pastors' wives and all that goes along with it:
the good, the bad, & the ugly.

So here it is, the beginning of a blog for pastors' wives. I must admit. It is not a topic you see, hear, or read about very often. To begin this blog I googled for sites or articles dedicated to pastor's wives (and for that matter I suppose there might even be a need for a blog for pastor's husbands, as the number of female pastors increases; so maybe this should be a blog simply for "pastor's spouses", but I am a traditionalist and the fact of the matter is that there is still more of a need for care specifically for pastor's wives).

I will be adding to this blog periodically as I am inspired by a thought or prayer or discover a good article or website or other link to provide for any pastors' wives who come upon this blog, or for others who want to refer it to them.

So let me just say that I care DEEPLY for my mom of course and her role as a pastor's wife, and some of the stress & difficulties  (as well as blessings) it may have contributed to her life. And this extends to ALL pastors' wives. We love & care for you and appreciate your role for the body of Christ, and hope that your pastor husband also appreciates you and shows sincere & deep care for all that you do for him and the ministry. God bless you !
